 | | Don at Headwaters Lapidary, a gemstone cutter with impeccable skills and integrity, Don has been cutting gems for over 41 years and started in his lapidary shop when it consisted of and old washing machine motor with a sanding and polishing head mounted on the shaft with an aluminum pan and foil as a splash shield. It was crude but hey! he was cutting stones! Now he has numerous saws, grinders, sanders, polishers and faceting machines. During high school he worked at a rock shop part time and then full time before trying diamond cutting as a profession. He earned a Graduate Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America in 1980 and has been cutting colored stones and diamonds as a profession ever since. |
